Released in 2024, Clase Azul San Luis Potosi is the third ultra-premium Mezcal from world-renowned Clase Azul. Each mezcal in the Clase Azul portfolio draws inspiration from a particular Mexican state. Inspired by the state of San Luis Potosi, this mezcal is made from green agave, a plant native to the to the semi-desert slopes and plains of the region, which grows at an elevation of around 6,500 ft above sea level. Made in Estación Ipiña, a small community of around 250 inhabitants, Clase Azul San Luis Potosi Mezcal is crafted from time-honored traditional processes that involve steam cooking in vaulted stone ovens, milling in a Chilean mill and double distillation in copper stills - contributing to the unique character of this expression. The nose opens with aromatic notes of cooked agave, caramel, green chile, sweet fruit, freshly cut grass and wildflowers. The palate offers herbal flavors featuring hints of caramel, lime zest and clove, with a mineral and spiced aftertaste.
