Launched in 2019, the Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series is a collection of masterfully crafted special-release bourbons uniquely finished using a range of techniques from singular wood staves and innovative barrel maturation to curated aging. The second of two prized iterations in the series - each inspired by the practice of curated hand-barrel rotation (BRT) used by Maker's Mark whiskey craftsmen - the 2022 Maker's Mark BRT-02 Wood Finishing Series Limited Release Kentucky Straight Bourbon is beyond reproach. Crafted to be enjoyed as a pair, BRT-01 focuses on barrels rested in the top, hotter part of Marker's rickhouse, while BRT-02 highlights the taste and finish of barrels kept in the cooler, bottom sections. BRT-02 is composed of a mash bill containing 60% corn, 26% red winter wheat, and 14% malted barley and is NAS bourbon matured for at least 4 years using French oak staves - bottled at 109.7 proof ABV.
