About the brand
The Appleton Estate is the oldest sugar estate and distillery on the beautiful island of Jamaica, located in the
unique Nassau Valley. The facility has been operational since roughly 1749 and is believed to have been
founded by Frances Dickinson - rewarded with an allotment of land for his service to the British government
in 1655. The estate and distillery stayed within the Dickinson family until it was sold and then re-sold a total
of 5 times. The facility and brand operated under the proprietorship of Wray & Nephew in 1916 until a
majority of Wray & Nephew's parent company was purchased by Gruppo Campari in 2012. With the
guidance of the first female Rum Master Distiller and Blender Joy Spence, this renowned brand has become
a world leader in offering pristinely crafted and carefully matured rum. Appleton Estate features varieties,
