George T. Stagg
$2,097.99
1. Well, well, well. Who's have guessed that GTS 2024 would feature somewhere on this list? 15 years, 2 months old and bottled at 126.1-proof, this could very well be the best bourbon of 2024 and may just be the best George T. Stagg vintage in its almost 20 year history. Phenomenal whiskey-making from Buffalo Trace, this year's BTAC George T. Stagg is a world beater. 96/100
Booker's
$1,283.99
$1,301.99
1.5. Uncut, unfiltered, unbelievably good bourbon, Booker's "The Reserves" Limited Edition Cask Strength Bourbon is an 8 year 2 month 12 day old whiskey that draws from some of Booker's rarest reserves... Bottled at 125.9-proof, it's hot but not excruciatingly warm. It's an elite Booker's release that we hope reappears in the years to come. 95/100.
Wild Turkey
$470.99
2. A commemorative bottling that honors Jimmy Russell, maybe I'm being sentimental but this bottle hit harder than most in 2024. 101-proof, easy drinking. 8 years old, the bourbon sweetspot. Classic WT mash, as is tradition. Wild Turkey's 70th Anniversary 8 Year Old Bourbon is perhaps the most underrated whiskey released this year, just an all-round belter of a bourbon. 92/100

3. Many have awarded this their best bourbon of 2024, and it's no a surprise - Russell's Reserve 15 Bourbon is probably a bit stiff not to be higher up on this list. 117.2-proof, aged 15 years, composed of the classic WT 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% barley mash, Russell's 15 is the blueprint for bourbon excellence. 92/100
Smokeye Hill
$307.99
4. The world's best whiskey? Not sure it was the best of 2024 but credit where it's due, at this pricepoint Smokeye Hill Barrel Proof Bourbon is a genuinely excellent cask-strength with a unique mash (IN heirloom blue corn). At 132+ proof, it's a hard hitting uncut, unfiltered bourbon that really punches above its weight. 91/100
Maker's Mark
5. Maker's Heart Release got a bit of a bad wrap in my opinion, and with so many exceptional releases coming before it, this was always going to be an uphill battle. The 2024 reboot of the Wood Finishing Series did, however, do what it said on the tin, a value sipper bottled at cask strength and defined by the classic Maker's Mark mashbill. 89/100
$353.00
6. Booker's did it again this year with a suite of exceptional bourbon releases, but the first 2024 iteration was our favorite of the year. The Springfield Batch, aged for 7 years, 7 months, and 8 days and bottled at 62.25% ABV or 124.5-proof, was a whiskey odyssey and brought the familiar Booker's power and punch to a slightly more sessionable level - my kind of bourbon. 88/100
