Established on one of the oldest sugar estates in Jamaica - circa 1753 - Hampden Estate Rum is a brand of premium pot still Jamaican rums renowned for its intense flavor. The Hampden Estate was first observed in historical surveys in 1684 by Thomas Goddard. The estate itself was formalized in 1743 and operated as a massive sugar plantation from 1753 under the ownership of a Scotsman by the name of Archibald Stirling. Consisting of roughly 3,500 acres of "Queen of Spain Valley" land, Hampden Estate changed hands several times before being acquired by the Hussey family of Everglades Farms Ltd, who developed the estate into a leading producer of fine Jamaican rum. Offering its first bottling in 2018 - much to worldwide acclaim - the brand has since expanded into several unique releases, including Hampden Estate Great House Distillery Edition, Habitation Velier HLCF 6 Year Rum, and the Hampden Estate Pagos - a rich rum aged in 100% ex-sherry casks.
