When the Romans conquered Carthago Nova, they discovered a delicious golden and aromatic elixir made with with fruit and herbs called Liqvor Mirabillis. To avoid temptations, the Romans banned the production and consumption of the elixr. This legend would serve as the inspiration for the invention of Licor 43. In 1946, Diego Zamora and his family established Licor 43, a premium liqueur comprised of 43 natural ingredients including Mediterranean citrus fruit and selected botanicals. Now the most popular liqueur in Spain and the fastest growing premium liqueur in the world, the same recipe created by the Zamora family is used to craft Licor 43 today.
